GigSmart for Business Shift Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees will vary based on location and scheduling factors. Please see below for additional details.
General Guidelines (All Locations)
- If a worker arrives and clocks in for a Shift, they must be paid at least 50% of the posted Shift duration, even if sent home early.
Cancellation Fee Rules by Location
U.S. Based Shifts (excluding California)

If the Shift was published more than 10 hours before the start time:
- No fee if canceled more than 10 hours in advance
- 50% fee per worker if canceled within 10 hours of the start time
If the Shift was published less than 10 hours before the start time:
- No fee if canceled more than 2 hours in advance
- 50% fee per worker if canceled within 2 hours of the start time
ASAP Shifts (published for immediate staffing):
- No fee if canceled before the worker is en route
- 50% fee per worker if canceled after the worker is en route
California Shifts

If the Shift was published more than 24 hours before the start time:
- No fee if canceled more than 24 hours in advance
- 50% fee per worker if canceled within 24 hours of the start time
If the Shift was published less than 24 hours before the start time:
- 50% fee per worker applies regardless of when the shift is cancelled
Purpose of Cancellation Fees
Cancellation fees ensure GigSmart workers are fairly compensated when they commit to a Shift and forgo other opportunities.
